PIANO BAR 101
How do piano bars work?
Q: What is a “piano bar party?”
A: A piano bar party is a public or private event where solo or dueling piano bar performers provide musical entertainment. Audience participation is 90% likely (or more!). A fun, fantastic and unique experience are guaranteed for all!
Q: What do you mean by a “request show?”
A: Piano bar “request shows” heavily feature songs you - the audience - submit to the stage (with a tip of your choice) for a performers to play. Audience members are encouraged to sing along and will usually be guided by the performers to “cut loose.”
Q: Must I sing along w/the performer & other audience members?
A: Of course not! Most people want to sing along and help create a group party atmosphere. Some, however, want to eat a wonderful dinner and enjoy the music without singing. It’s your choice – but remember this: if you request a big singalong song and do nOt sing – the performer is likely to give your table some lighthearted comical attention!
Q: How do I submit song requests and tips?
A: We provide pencils and paper request slips on each table as well as at the bar stations. These are submitted directly to the stage. We also provide 22QR codes for CashApp, Paypal and Venmo users – along with tabletop QR code access to the nosongrequests.com app, which allows you to make requests and tip performers without even leaving your seat (try it out!)!
Q: How does the amount I tip the performer effect my song request?
A: Our goal is to play every song requested regardless of tip amount. That said, songs accompanied by higher tips are likely to get more consideration on stage – meaning a song request with a $10 tip will be played before a request with a $5 tip; $20 requests will be considered before the $10 songs are played, etc.
Q: Is it acceptable to buy a performer drinks or an appetizer in place of a monetary tip?
A: Our performers have received all sorts of fun gifts as tips for song requests. So, yes! It is totally fine to buy the performer a drink or appetizer – your choice!
Q: It is acceptable to request a song without leaving a tip?
A: Of course! Just remember – song requests with tips included are likely to be played first.
Q: Are shows at the Club 331 Piano Bar exclusive to members?
A: No. Club 331 is designed to create a big city piano bar atmosphere in the historic water town of Havre De Grace, MD. Walk-ins are both welcome and encouraged, so come-one, come-all! Reservations are strongly recommended to secure the best seats in the house, however!
